This CD-ROM is for teachers and teacher education students. It supports
the teaching of number and arithmetic from early primary into junior secondary
years. It explains the important mathematical principles, demonstrates
how these can be explained to children and shows both expert performance
and intermediate stages of algorithms. It is useful for both practising
teachers and teacher education students. It can be used as part of a teacher
education course or in-service course, or as a stand-alone self-help program
to improve basic understanding of arithmetic and its underlying principles
and increase knowledge for teaching.
The CD has text, extensive graphics, slide shows and small movies demonstrating
solution methods of various stages of sophistication.
