The DARE research team was formed in late 1999 to provide a focal point for research and scholarly debate about equity issues in early childhood services. The team's aims are to build scholarship and professional practices that draw on and contribute to leading edge reconceptualist theory and practice in early education through collaborative action research with policy makers, colleagues and practitioners. This team was the forerunner of the Centre for Equity and Innovation in Early Childhood (CEIEC) that operated at the University of Melbourne between 2001 and 2011.
