  • A summary of key concepts and key formulas at the end of each chapter.
  • A collection of multiple-choice, short-answer and analysis test questions for revision, including some carefully selected items from Board of Studies VCE Specialist Mathematics examination papers, at the end of each chapter.
  • Answers to most exercises at the end of the book with a Solutions Supplement available separately.

The Three authors lecture at The University of Melbourne. They have been active in pre-service and in-service education of mathematics teachers, and the external assessment of Year 12 mathematics in Victoria for many years.

Cambridge Specialist Mathematics is a textbook designed to meet the needs of Year 12 students who require an in-depth coverage of the content of VCE Specialist Mathematics. In addition, it includes some clearly identified extension material relevant to tertiary mathematics courses.

The book covers all of the content prescribed by the VCE study design, identifies assumed knowledge and, where relevant, includes some revision material. Text is kept to a minimum, with an emphasis on carefully structured and graded worked examples that can be used by the teacher to bring out crucial points as well as help students to develop an understanding of new concepts and mathematical techniques.
